March Speaker Series: Roger Porter
From the White House to Harvard Yard: Reflections on Leadership
Roger B. Porter is the IBM Professor of Business and Government at the Harvard Kennedy School, where he has taught since 1977 training leaders in public policy, governance, and decision-making. He has served in senior economic policy roles in the White House under three U.S. presidents, including as Assistant to the President for Economic and Domestic Policy, Director of the White House Office of Policy Development, and Executive Secretary of the President’s Economic Policy Board. Porter’s academic work includes influential books on presidential decision making and economic policy, and he is a long-time member of national boards and foundations focused on leadership and public service. An alumnus of Brigham Young University, he was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University and earned his M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard University.
