February Speaker Series: Elisabeth Rhodes Bingham
Leveraging Personal Strengths for Lasting Impact
ABOUT THE TALK:
"Our personal strengths can open unexpected opportunities, but they also carry a profound responsibility to care for those who cannot care for themselves. Drawing on my own experience, I’ll reflect on a paradigm shift—from a life centered on individual achievement and family to a broader purpose, albeit full of risks and hard-learned lessons, that ultimately served far more people than I ever imagined."
In 1999, Elisabeth Rhodes Bingham founded Humanitarian XP (HXP.org), an organization focused on opportunities for teens to serve in developing countries, changing lives through sustainable service. HXP has now mobilized over 50,000 volunteers in 45 countries building schools, clinics, and community infrastructures. In 2002 she created the Ashby Foundation and in 2022 started Anxiously Engaged Alliance (AEA.care), extending education and work opportunities to the people of West Africa and the Caribbean. Elisabeth holds a bachelor’s degree from BYU, a master’s degree from Harvard, and a postgraduate diploma from Oxford's Saïd Business School. She currently serves as president of the Harvard Crimson Organization for Latter-day Saint Alumni.
